A Tragedy and Incredible Legacy Leads to a Lifetime Passion for Watches

The story of Mint Evolutive starts with Hong Kong-based, French Designer and Founder Alexandre Besson, whose father passed away tragically one day. He left his vintage Seiko watches (an SKX007 and SKX031 purchased in Japan in the 70's and 90's) for Alexandre to inherit, which started a journey that developed into a lifetime passion for vintage watches and watch modding.

Francois Besson, Alexandre's father and a judo champion, former Marine commando and French intelligence agent led an impressive life that most would envy, going as far as to receive the Légion d'Honneur for his roles and services to his home country and abroad.

He left his legacy behind with the timepieces that are still carried and worn to this day. Now, decades later the military, sports and diplomatic virtues have been embodied in Mint Evolutive - with every watch not just carrying a legacy with it, but giving rise to new personal stories that go with their user wherever they're worn.

As for Alex, his fascination with vintage watches led him to spend countless hours online researching and doing just about everything he could to get his hands on every iconic piece he could find at auction houses and vintage retailers.

As a proud vintage watch fanboy, he obsessively studied all the details of these historic pieces - from construction specs, to fonts on the dial, to hand shapes, bezels, insert types and just about every other element that made these watches so desirable. It's with this extreme attention to detail and obsession with all of the nuances and finer points that Mint Evolutive is designed with.

Why Very Few Could Enjoy This Passion - Until Now

Alexandre eventually discovered that there was a passionate market for both watch enthusiasts and anyone looking to get into vintage watches. However, there was a huge problem that stood in the way; Namely, that vintage watches were very expensive and difficult to find, often altered with aftermarket parts or reprint dials. Not only that, but the maintenance and service fees on top of all this made them way too costly and time-consuming for anyone but the most die-hard watch-lover to acquire.

He set out to solve this by creating the world's first watch that not only combined all the aesthetic elements and intricacies of vintage watches, but also could be modified - allowing the user to put together "new" icons that would be rich of their own personal story.
Anyone who attempts to do this themselves will soon find that sourcing the appropriate parts, getting the correct tools and finding clear, step by step tutorials serve as huge headaches and roadblocks that make it next to impossible to achieve.

MINT is the only brand that addresses all these concerns for you by providing you with a one-stop shop for watches, parts, accessories, tools, workshops and video tutorials - cutting out all the frustration and confusion and giving you everything you need to enjoy the satisfaction and appeal of watch modding.
